Lisbon plans to offer in-school instructions for all students, reopening plan available online

LISBON -- Lisbon Central School announced its reopening plans to the community and it includes offering in-school instruction to all students.

Students in the pre-Kindergarten program will continue half day instruction with the afternoon section dismissing at 2:12 p.m. Pre-K and kindergarten will attend five days a week with a dismissal of 2:12 p.m. In the event that students cannot safely socially distance all students, the district will reduce both classes to half-day instruction.

Students in Grades 1-6 will attend Five days a week with a dismissal of 2:12pm daily

Class lists in Grades 1-6 will be modified to ensure proper safety protocols can be put in place. Class lists will be created by administration and staff to ensure they are equitable based on student needs. Once determined, classroom assignments will be shared with students and families and faculty.

Students will remain with the same cohort of students throughout the day. They will participate in daily recess, lunch, and special area classes, with modifications. Attendance will be taken daily and is required per the New York State Education Department. Assignments will be graded and assessments will be completed regularly to assess student learning.

Students in Grades 7-12 will attend five full days a week with a dismissal of 2:12pm daily OR take part in a hybrid schedule of alternating A/B days in the building. This will result in fewer students in the building, allowing for social distancing in classrooms and hallways.

Students attending five full days a week will be decided by staff, and communicated to students and families once determined. These students will include, but are not limited to, in-district Special Education students and ELL students.

Students in the hybrid model will be placed into two groups by staff, and communicated to students and families once determined. Students from the same household/family, taking part in the hybrid model in Grades 7-12, will be placed in the same group whenever possible.

During at-home virtual learning, students will be required to participate in classroom work remotely and/or complete assignments. Student expectations will be consistent with in person learning, and communicated, by the teacher.

Students in the building will remain with the same cohort of students throughout the day as possible. They will participate in daily lunch, and special area classes, with modifications. Electives, such as band, chorus and orchestra may be limited.
