Lee W. Farrington, 78, Norwood

NORWOOD -- Funeral services for Lee W. Farrington, 78, a resident of 18 Park Street, Norwood, will be held on Monday, December 18, 2023, at 11 a.m. at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood with Rev. Raymond Moreau presiding.

Burial will be held in the Riverside Cemetery, Norwood.

Family and friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood on Sunday from 2-5 p.m.

Mr. Farrington passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at the Canton-Potsdam Hospital after a long illness.

Lee is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ellen, Norwood; a son, Francis Farrington, Simpsonville, SC; two daughters, Rachael and Matthew LaMont, Simpsonville, SC, and Stephanie and Robert Rogers, Potsdam; his beloved eight grandchildren, Keely O’Brien and her companion CJ Rochford, Corinne O’Brien and her companion Daniel Moulton, Brittany and Stephen Farrow, Danton LaMont, Andrew LaMont, Ethan LaMont, Aaron LaMont and Bethany LaMont; a brother, Dale and Marlyn Farrington, Greenville, SC as well as several nieces and nephews.

Lee was pre-deceased by his parents and two sisters, Ann McDonald and Jane LaHair.

Born in Potsdam, NY on November 19, 1945, to the late Francis and Agnes Oakes Farrington, Lee graduated from Norwood-Norfolk Central School, Class of 1963, attended Canton ATI, and became a Journeyman Pipefitter with Local 73 (now Local 81).

He married his high school sweetheart, Ellen Royce on October 14, 1967. Together, Lee and Ellen raised their family and were lifelong residents of Norwood.

Lee was a longtime member and former Fire Chief of the Norwood Volunteer Fire Department as well as the Norwood Brass Fireman, including the 1984 Winter Olympic trip to Sarajevo, Yugoslavia.

Lee enjoyed gardening and hunting as well.
