Landlords own their property and that means they do all the upkeep and pay taxes on the property. It belongs to them! They can require anything they want on their property before a person moves in. Landlords have rights too and this is one of them. If a tenant claims two people are moving in and several more move in how is that fair? Why shouldn’t they know? It’s their property. As far as pets, that is also a right of the landlord. If they don’t want smokers, that is a right too! This Is America and last I knew people who own property own their property.
