With a full 60-minute effort similar to Friday's 3-1 win over Michigan Tech, Clarkson University came back on Saturday with another 3-1 victory over the Huskies on Saturday to improve 5-0-0 at Cheel Arena.

The Golden Knights move to 6-4 overall and will close out a four-game, non-league stretch when they play archrival St. Lawrence in out-of-conference action at the Thanksgiving Faceoff in Lake Placid this coming Saturday.

Junior defenseman Greg Moro (Edmonton, ALB), senior forward Marly Quince (Sioux Lookout, ONT) and junior center Nico Sturm (Augsburg, Germany) scored the goals and junior Jake Kielly (Eden Prairie, MN) was outstanding between the pipes with a 25-save outing, including 13 stops in the middle frame.

Clarkson won the specialty teams battle, with the only power-play marker of the night, while killing off all six of the Huskies' man-advantage opportunities. The Knights opened the game killing off two consecutive Michigan Tech man-advantage opportunities. For the weekend, the Green and Gold were a perfect 11-for-11 shorthanded.

For the 10th straight game Clarkson got on the scoreboard first with a power-play blast from the left circle by Moro at 11:43 of the opening period. Sturm fed a pass out of the corner to Moro, who ripped a shot in from the dot for his third goal of the year. Sturm, Clarkson's leading scorer, now has tallied a point in each games this season. Junior Haralds Egle (Liepaja, Latvia) also assisted.

The Huskies tied the game early in the middle frame. After a faceoff win by Dylan Steman at the right circle, Jake Lucchini found the puck in the slot and fired in a quick shot at 2:12.

Just 35 seconds later, the Green and Gold regained the lead. Quince picked up a loose puck at the bottom of the left circle and sent a shot just inside the near post that trickled over the line for his first goal of the season. Classmate Juho Jokiharju (Tampere, Finland) assisted.

Clarkson sealed the victory with an empty-net score by Sturm, his team-high sixth goal of the season, with 49 seconds remaining. Freshman defenseman Michael Underwood (Bloomfield, MI) set up the goal to earn his first collegiate point.

Michigan Tech, which entered the weekend on a four-game winning streak and with victories in five of its previous six games, stands at 5-5-0.
