CANTON -- After investigating cases of reported welfare fraud, the St. Lawrence County Department of Social Services and the District Attorney’s Office have obtained judicial settlement of $49,392.00 and sanctioned individuals preventing them from receiving further benefits from the programs they defrauded.
Investigations are ongoing and arrests are pending.
The DOSS Investigations Unit, at 379-2145, requests that the public report cases of welfare fraud to them or by filing a complaint at www.otda.nygov/welfarefraud. Reporters may remain anonymous.
