CANTON – John Danis will be performing at the Farmers' Market Friday Sept. 7.
The Farmer’s Market is located on the Canton Village Green, Main Street and is open from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Danis graduated from the Crane School of Music in 1975 and taught instrumental music at Hermon-DeKalb Central School for 33 years.
Danis plays classical, music, jazz, rock, folk, bluegrass and country music.
"I first played at the Farmers Market about a dozen years ago, inspired by the work of Willie Nelson and John Mellencamp's Farm Aid Concerts,” said Danis.
“The year that I first played at the market was the year that they chose to feature Farmers Markets. I have appeared around the region with the band Stringfolks at various functions and venues,” said Danis.
“The latest incarnation of the band includes my wife Bonnie Danis and sister-in-law, Maggie Hockett. I have always tried to maintain a solo presence around the locale. To that end, I am very much looking forward to playing at the Canton Farmers Market," continued Danis.
