Senior Kara Hurley was fed a pass at the top of the crease and fired a shot past goaltender Aleena Milinski, as the Saints topped RPI 10-9 in a double overtime stunner for their first Liberty League win of the season Friday night at North Country Field.

The Saints were led by Kiera Taussig, who scored a season-high four goals. Taussig also picked up four ground balls, caused two turnovers and won three draw controls for St. Lawrence. Kayla Schmalz netted two goals, while Julia Mitiguy had a goal and an assist against the Engineers. Alexandra LaMotte, Greta Massey and Hurley tallied one goal each.

Early on, Taussig scored on a free-position attempt for the Saints to tie the game 2-2 with just under 13 minutes to play in the first half. Both teams battled back and forth throughout the rest of the game, with Schmalz tallying her first goal of the game on a free-position shot to tie the game 5-5 just 16 seconds before half time.

St. Lawrence emerged from the locker room firing on all cylinders to score their third and fourth unanswered goals and pick up a two-goal lead over RPI. A rally from the Engineers' allowed RPI to gain a two-goal lead of their own with just over three minutes to play. Jewett found Hurley with 1:57 remaining in the second overtime to clinch the win for the Saints.

RPI was led by Morgan Doyle with two goals, while seven different members of the Engineers' squad scored one goal each. Milinski picked up four ground balls and recorded a career-high of 18 saves in goal.

Olga Lukas and Cricket Wemyss combined for 7 saves between the pipes for the Saints.

The Saints improved to 4-5 overall and 1-1 in conference play, while RPI fell to 3-6, 1-2.

St. Lawrence returns to North Country Field tomorrow afternoon facing Skidmore at 3 p.m.
