Simmons set fire to documents belonging a 31-year old female victim and the three children, officers said.
Police said he also kicked a car belonging to the victim, breaking the passenger side mirror. Simmons also pushed a door into the victim causing a brook hanger to strike her left arm.
William P. Simmons, 28, was charged with third-degree criminal mischief, felony, fifth-degree arson: intentionally damage property, second-degree harassment and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
Simmons was arraigned in Canton court and released under the supervision of probation and it to appear in court Oct. 26.
