HANNAWA FALLS – Helping Hands has been awarded $25,000 to purchase food from The Food Bank of Central New York.
Following an initial grant of $7,000, the New York State Legislature has allocated additional funds to alleviate hunger in response to skyrocketing food prices. Out of that allocation, an additional $18,000 was designated to Helping Hands.
"Because of the high cost of food we are doing what we can to help people in need feed their families. We could not do it without The Food Bank of Central,” said Tom Chappell, Helping Hands executive director. “They are the hands and feet of Jesus, showing His love in practical ways."
If you need help, call Tom or Flo at 315-268-0633. Helping Hands is located at 5868 State Hwy. 56 and is open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
