Head Start, a school-readiness program for three- and four-year-olds, is planning recruitment open houses for the fall 2011 school year.
Children attending Head Start receive a quality learning environment, nutritious meals and transportation with a bus monitor. Parents should bring a child’s birth certificate, shot record and proof of 2010 income such as a W-2, income tax statement, four pay stubs, public assistance grant letter or other documentation.
The open houses will take place in Gouverneur at 22 Church St. on Wednesday, Jan. 19 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Thursday, Jan. 20 from 5 to 7 p.m.; in Potsdam at ½ Lawrence Ave. on Jan. 20 and 21 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.; and in Canton at 8 Judson St. on Thursday, Jan. 27 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Friday, Jan. 28 from 5 to 7 p.m. More info: main office, 386-8574; Gouverneur, 287-1650; Potsdam, 265-6710; and Canton, 386-3118.
