GOUVERNEUR – State troopers charged Joshua L. Sellers, 36, of Gouverneur, for seventh-degree criminal possession of controlled substance, and second-degree aggravated unlicensed operator on Thursday.
Around 7:42 a.m., troopers responded to State Highway 11, in the town of Gouverneur, for a vehicle and traffic complaint of a vehicle driving in the wrong lane of traffic. An investigation determined Sellers was operating a 2010 tan Buick Lucerne on State Highway 11. Troopers located the vehicle parked in a parking lot and Sellers slumped over the wheel, police reported.
Seller was taken into custody due to not having a valid driver’s license. During the vehicle inventory, a glass smoking device was found with a controlled substance located inside of it, according to state police.
Seller was arrested and transported to SP Gouverneur for processing.
He was released on appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Gouverneur Court on Nov. 9.
