OGDENSBURG -- Richard M. McCrossan, 31, Gouverneur, has admitted to sexually abusing a 12-year-old girl and has been charged with first-degree sex abuse, according to state police.
McCrossen allegedly made admissions to sexually abusing the girl on two occasions in 2012. He told troopers one incident occurred when he was stationed on Fort Drum, and the second incident occurred in Ogdensburg.
Inv. Mark Shellenberger from the state police station in Ogdensburg was able to locate the victim, who offered information that corroborated the acts detailed by McCrossan.
McCrossan was charged in Town of LeRay Court with first-degree sex abuse and endangering the welfare of a child.
He was arraigned in the Town of Pamelia Court and committed to jail on bail.
Charges in St. Lawrence County are pending.
