Georgia Giese finished in sixth place to lead the seventh-ranked St. Lawrence University women's cross country team to second place at the Roo Invitational on Saturday morning on the SUNY Canton campus.
Giese covered the six-kilometer course in 24 minutes, 26.88 seconds, 43.19 seconds behind Clarkson's Abigail Sullivan, who won the individual title and led the Golden Knights to the team title in the three-team competition.
Clarkson had the top-five finishers in the race to score 15 points. St. Lawrence, which rested most of its top runners, was second with 47, while SUNY Canton was third with 84.
Head Coach Kate Curran
"Today was a nice opportunity to run the 6K distance on a course just across town in an extremely well-run meet hosted by SUNY Canton. Cassidy Scott set the early pace on the trails she was familiar with from the high school state cross country championships that were held here. It was great to see both Cassidy and Georgia take home recognition with individual top-10 finishes."
