I am so frustrated at how our system works -- parents do drugs, drink, get arrested and are still allowed to see their children. Adults injure children and all they get is a slap on the hand and are allowed to still have custody of their children. Women lose rights to a child, yet have another child and are allowed to keep it. People go years without seeing their kids and suddenly decide that they want to be parents and even though the judge knows all about their criminal and drug-related past, they get weeks of time all to themselves with said child. What has happened to our courts and social services departments to allow parents this kind of freedom that they do not deserve? Isn’t it supposed to be about the best interest of the child, not the best interest of the caseworker’s paycheck? Please do everything you can to advocate for these children and keep them safe from neglectful, abusive, drug addict deadbeat parents. Road blocks no trouble.
