MASSENA -- Friends of the Nature Center are hosting upcoming events including Swamp School, Junior Citizen Scientist program and an Earth Day craft fair.
“Swamp School” is on April 18 from 1 to 3 p.m. Participants should wear waterproof boots and dress for the weather. This is open to people of all ages and there is no charge, but registration is required.
The Earth Day craft workshop will be at the Massena Public Library, Glenn St. on April 18 from 10 to 11 a.m. and again at the Brasher Badenhausen Library, Main St. from 1 to 2 p.m. The group will use a soda bottle to create an insect mobile. Participants should bring a clean, dry two- to three-liter soda bottle. Other materials will be provided. There is no charge but registration is required.
The Junior Citizen Scientist program meets on April 25 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Attendees will learn how scientists record data, how to use nature journaling as a tool and more. This program is for ages 5 to 12. Meet at the Nature Center trailhead, 19 Robinson Bay Road and dress for the weather. Registration is required.
