NORFOLK -- Frederick A. Grenon, age 80, passed away at his home on Wednesday, September 30, 2026.
There will be no calling hours or funeral services.
A Graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 1:00 pm in Calvary Cemetery, Massena with full military honors.
Arrangements are with the Phillips Memorial Home in Massena.
Fred was born on August 6, 1946, in Massena to the late Hilaire J. and Margarat (Brown) Grenon.
Fred married Sheila E. Welcher on August 15, 1967.
He entered the United States Army in 1968 and was honorable discharged in 1970.
After returning home from the Army, he started work at Ames Department Store in Massena and then went to work at Reynolds Metals until retirement in 2001.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing woodworking and spending time with his grandchildren.
Fred is survived by his children: Billi Jo and husband, John Richards of Norfolk, Jeremy C. Grenon of Norfolk, and Shannon B. Grenon of Massena. His grandchildren; Cole J. Currier of Massena, John M. Richards of Massena, Chyler L. Richards of Norfolk, Raquel, Jeron and Jamia Pratt of North Carolina. Great grandchildren; Jamez and Legacy Pratt of North Carolina. His siblings; Robert A. Grenon of Texas, Margarat A. and Frank Voci of Rome, NY and Marlene Grenon of Massena along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Sheila in January 2015, a sister, Louise Warner, brother; Thomas J. and David J. Grenon, grandson, Zachary T. Currier, and a sister in-law, Vivian Grenon.
