FOWLER -- Fowler Baptist Church, Balmat Road, is one of 2,700 collection sites around the country participating in Operation Christmas Child, an outreach effort of the international Christian relief and evangelism organization Samaritan’s Purse.
The organization collects shoeboxes filled with school supplies, hygiene items, and small toys for delivery to children in need around the world. Since 1993, the project has delivered shoeboxes to more than 77 million individual children in some 130 countries.
Fowler Baptist will be accepting boxes Monday-Friday, Nov. 15-19 from 7 to 8 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 20 from 9 a.m. to noon, and Sunday, Nov. 21 from 8 to 9 a.m. They begin their journey around the world later that day.
