OGDENSBURG – Four people were arrested on drug and weapons charges, after Ogdensburg police executed a search warrant at 608 Jersey Ave. just after midnight Tuesday, Feb. 26.

The search warrant followed an investigation into the sales of narcotics from the residence, said police.

Investigators recovered a quantity of heroin, crack cocaine and U.S. currency. They also found a loaded .22 caliber handgun and a 12 gauge shotgun, a press release from the police said.

The homeowner, Salean M. Simmons, 27,was charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, class B felonies. She was also charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, also a felony.

Police said Simmons’ weapon charge stems from her possession of the shotgun in the home, while having been previously convicted of a felony.

The other occupants at the residence were also charged.

Anthony E. Parente, 22, of 38 Impala Court, Staten Island; Roselia Colon, 27, of 8776 Bay 16 St., Brooklyn; and Marcus McCullough, 26, of 555 E. 178 St., Bronx, were all charged with one count each of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, as well as, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor. The weapon charges for Parente, Colon, and McCullough, stem from the discovery of the loaded, .22 caliber handgun, police said.

All four individuals were held at the City of Ogdensburg Police Department, pending their arraignment in Ogdensburg City Court later on Feb. 26.

The investigation remains ongoing, and future arrests are possible, police said.

Ogdensburg police were assisted by the county sheriff’s drug task force and deputies, state police, U.S. Department of Homeland Security investigators, border patrol, and the Gouverneur and Canton police departments.
