Eat what you want

In response to the Letter to the Editor “New Year’s resolution: avoid animal products,” I will make my own resolutions, goals and plans, thank you! Blaming meat is so silly it's almost funny. The author speaks of obesity but only blames meat, not sugars, glucose, fats and other things that lead to obesity. Much obesity is a result of being poor; how do you help them? And too many other reasons to even start to count. The author needs to do a lot more research into the problems he suggests not eating meat will counter. In fact, merely take a look at the government stats for life-long vegetarians and their life spans etc. My family is a good example; meat eaters, vegetable eaters, fruit eaters, all, and with longer than average life-spans. It is wrong and detrimental to live on only one source of food type and does not lead to a high quality lifestyle for anyone. And if you want some really tasty treats, try growing veggies and fruits yourself to harvest and eat. But don't limit yourself to the point of leaving out all the other tasty and healthy foods that are available. You will be a lot healthier and happier; thousands of reports from perfectly unbiased resources will tell you just what I've been saying here.
