Cortland, NY – Joseph Dwy posted a pair of hits but host and No. 10 nationally-ranked SUNY Cortland earned a pair of wins v. the SUNY Canton baseball team on Sunday.
Game 1
Jake Casey tossed a no-hitter for the Red Dragons as he improved to 4-1 on the season. Meanwhile, the Cortland bats exploded for 16 hits. Travis Schindler, Collin Lynk, Fernando Santana and Dwy drew walks to break up the perfect game.
Collin Trathen took the loss for Canton giving up five earned runs with two strike outs and three walks over 2.2 innings.
Game 2
The Red Dragons (25-6) scored two in the first inning, three in the fifth and one each in the second and fourth innings for a 7-0 win in the nightcap.
Isiah Hudson earned the win giving up five hits with four strike outs in five innings.
Luis Torres-Rivera gave up just three earned runs with two strike outs and a walk in six innings.
Dwy posted a pair of hits and Schindler, Brett Hoberman and Ben Miller also singled for the Roos (5-18).
The baseball team returns to the diamond on Tuesday when it travels crosstown to take on St. Lawrence University at 4 p.m.
