POTSDAM -- One person died in a two-vehicle collision on U.S. Route 11 on Tuesday afternoon.
Sheriff Kevin Wells said a four-door sedan was headed toward Potsdam when it crossed into the oncoming lane and collided head-on with a pickup truck.
The driver of the sedan died, and deputies are waiting to notify the family before releasing the person’s name.
“It’s still under investigation to see if we can determine why the sedan went into the other lane and hit the truck head-on,” Wells said.
He said the deceased is a person in their early 20s. The driver of the pickup truck was treated at Canton-Potsdam Hospital and released. Wells said no charges will be filed against the person.
The collision occurred near the 1844 House.
