PIERREPONT — Over 70 veterans are buried in the historic Pierrepont Hill Cemetery, including Revolutionary War Veteran Reverend Nathan Crary (1762-1852).
As part of the Cemetery’s work to improve the historic graves of many Veterans, a new headstone for Rev. Crary has been obtained from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs because his old stone had deteriorated into pieces.
The VA provides the headstone but the Cemetery needs to pay the cost of installation.
This year funds raised through the Annual Memorial Day Flowers for Veteran’s Graves will be dedicated for that purpose.
Donations are now being accepted to honor all our Veterans on Memorial Day.
A donation of $10 will place a pot of marigolds on a Veteran’s grave.
Donations may be sent to the Treasurer, Pierrepont Hill Cemetery Association, at 800 State Highway 68, Canton, NY 13617.
Include your email address and you will be notified of the name of the Veteran your flowers honored.
If you know of a Veteran buried in Pierrepont and want the flowers on their grave, specify the Veteran’s name.
The Pierrepont Hill Cemetery is an IRS tax exempt organization and will provide receipts upon request.
