Daniel J. Sullivan, 57, Parishville

PARISHVILLE – Daniel J. Sullivan, 57, a lifelong resident of the Old Potsdam-Parishville Road, tragically passed away Friday afternoon, December 8, 2023, at his home.

Dan was born on November 14, 1966, in Gouverneur, the son of the late Jerry and Nancy (Grant) Sullivan. He grew up in Parishville, where he was a 1984 graduate of Parishville-Hopkinton Central School and took a year of courses at Canton ATC. On June 15, 1991, he married his high school sweetheart, Tammy Sweeney at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Msgr. John Murphy, officiating.

After graduating from high school, he worked for a time at Atlantic Testing before starting a career with UPS where he worked in various roles retiring as a driver after 35 years of service. He had a lifelong passion for farming and continued that passion on the family farm after his retirement. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and the Sons of the Amvets Post #265. He also had a great love for the woods and being outside with snowmobiling, hunting, and camping being some of his favorite pastimes. He was a very genuine and caring person who would help anyone in need and loved to hang with his friends and family in the garage.

Dan is survived by his loving wife and still his high school sweetheart, Tammy; his children, Connor D. and his wife, Harleigh Sullivan of Parishville and Jayda M. Sullivan (Anthony Callin) of Parishville; his sisters, Cristal Sullivan of Parishville, Karen and Daniel Curren of Pembroke, New Hampshire, and Rebecca and Kevin Smith of Parishville; his brother, Jeffrey Sullivan (Tonya Cyrus) of Parishville; his father and mother-in-law, Melvin and Gloria Sweeney of Parishville; and his wife’s siblings, Terry Sweeney of Parishville and Kathy and Allan Perkins of Florida. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Fred Bevacqua, Emily Sullivan, Bailey and Sydney Koen, Riley Curren (Megan Baillargeon), Grant and Nolan Curren, Keely and Ava Smith, and Chelsey Sweeney; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; and numerous friends.

Arrangements are under the care and guidance of the Donaldson-Seymour Funeral Home, Potsdam, where friends may call on Sunday, December 17th from 1- 5:00 PM. Funeral services honoring his life will be held Monday, December 18 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Lee Sweeney, officiating. Burial to follow in Chapel Hill Cemetery. The family and friends will continue to honor and celebrate his life at the Amvets Firemen’s Hall in Parishville after the burial.
