MASSENA -- With freezing weather on the way, New York Power Authority crews will begin removing the docks and buoys along in Louisville, Waddington and Massena beginning Oct. 19.
The process is expected to take approximately two weeks, but is dependent on river and weather conditions.
Beginning the week of Oct. 19 and starting at Howard Park, docks and buoys will be removed from the following locations:
• The Town and Village of Waddington: Howard Park Docks, Whitaker Park Docks, Old Milk Factory Buoys
• Town of Louisville: Sand Island
• Town of Massena: Massena Country Club, Massena Intake Docks, South Channel Buoy, Hawkins Point Dock & Buoy
This action is taken to ensure the safety of workers and to avert damage to boats, docks and buoys during spells of sub-freezing temperatures. NYPA officials will notify the public when the docks and buoys are to be reinstalled in the spring of 2016.
