CANTON -- Throughout the past year, Cornell Cooperative Extension’s (CCE) master gardener volunteers have provided programs in St. Lawrence County, and now they’ve turned their attention to the Cornell Cooperative Extension Learning Farm.

The long winter gave volunteers time to draft a master plan for enhancing the educational and aesthetic value of the farm. Over the past two weeks, they’ve been implementing the first phase, which is planting site-appropriate shrubs and perennials such as blueberry, gooseberry and double-blooming day lilies around the office. All costs have been covered through fundraising and donations.

Seaway Timber provided bulk mulch.
