High school students in the 21st Congressional District, which includes St. Lawrence County, can submit pieces to the Congressional Art Competition.
The winner will have their piece hung in the Capitol for one year. The winner and a parent will be flown to Washington, D.C. for the contest's reception. Submissions must be received by April 23. The winner will be announced May 5. Participants should send a digital image of their work to ny21art@mail.house.gov.
There are several restrictions:
• Artwork must be two-dimensional and no larger than 28"x28"x4", including the frame.
• All pieces must be framed and not weigh more than 15 pounds
• Each entry must be original, not violate any U.S. copyright laws and be in its original medium
