A Colton native serving in the U.S. Air Force was recently honored during his graduation from airman lead school.
Christopher Sharlow received the John Levitow Award, which goes to the "airman who displayed the highest leadership and scholastic qualities throughout the course," according to Crystal McCarthy, Sharlow's mother.
Sharlow is an aircrew flight equipment journeyman and assigned to the 436th Operations Support Squadron, Dover Air Force Base, Delaware.
McCarthy says Sharlow will be promoted to staff sergeant on August 1.
