COLTON -- Dennis Eickhoff of Colton has been selected as a director of the Firemen's Home in Hudson, operated by the Firemen's Association of the State of New York.
He was elected at FASNY’s annual convention in Albany.
Eickhoff will replace Carl Steffin of Tupper Lake on the board.
Eickhoff is a past chief of the Colton Fire Department, secretary of the Northern New York Volunteer Firemen's Association, and past president of the St. Lawrence County Fire Chiefs Association.
For the past 112 years, the Firemen’s Association of the State of New York has owned the FASNY Firemen’s Home, now a fully licensed skilled nursing facility.
The FASNY Firemen’s Home also serves as the home of the Museum of Firefighting and the Firefighter’s Memorial, where visitors come to pay homage to the fire service.
