OGDENSBURG -- Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center joins in recognition of the American Diabetes Association’s National Diabetes Education Week, Nov. 5-11, to acknowledge their diabetes education staff.
Certified Diabetes Educator Karen Cole, RN, and Shannon VanHouse, RN, who is working toward her diabetes education certification, provide one-on-one and group information sessions for those with diabetes, helping them be more active, learn healthy coping skills, healthy eating, monitoring blood sugar levels, problem-solving, reducing risks and complications, and taking medications.
Claxton-Hepburn also offers classes with current and comprehensive information that adheres to the standards of the American Diabetes Association.
