OGDENSBURG-- Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center (CHMC) hosted a “Let’s Not Meet by Accident” demonstration Aug. 5 for Joe Lynch’s OFA Drivers Education Class.

The program walked students through the scene of a crash, from the police investigation to ambulance transport and arrival to the emergency department, notification of parents, and the reality of trauma management in the emergency department.

Michele James from the St. Lawrence County Stop-DWI/Traffic Safety Program, CHMC collaborated with outside agencies and internal departments to give the 56 new drivers a first-hand experience of what could happen to them if they get into an automobile accident.
