David Kinney (Mexico, NY) of the Clarkson University Baseball team failed to get on base only four times all weekend and then added a complete-game victory on the mound against Skidmore, winning Liberty League Performer of the Week honors on Monday.
Kinney went 8-for-12 with six runs scored and four driven in offensively, just missing a home run off the top of the fence in the second game of the series, and added a complete-game victory in the third game, helping the Golden Knights take three of four in the series against the Thoroughbreds.
Overall this season, Kinney ranks in the top five in seven different categories in the Liberty League, including second in hitting (.452), fourth in slugging (.630), third in on-base percentage (.528), fourth in runs (22), fifth in hits (33), fourth in total bases (46) and first in doubles (10). Already this season, Kinney has broken Clarkson's all-time marks for extra-base hits and total bases, and he is on the verge of adding the home runs, doubles, and hits marks as well.
