Clarkson Women's Soccer head coach Sarah Raymond hopes to start a new tradition for the Golden Knights this summer when the team embarks to Spain later this week for a nine-day training trip.

Though the Golden Knights' men's soccer team has journeyed to Germany in the past, this is the first foreign training trip for the women's squad in program history. With 18 players, two coaches, and three parents making the flight to Spain, the trip should prove to be a memorable experience for the team.

The Knights will land in Barcelona on Saturday, August 2nd and will take the day to get acclimated. However, the team will enjoy some sightseeing at Nou Camp Stadium, the home of FC Barcelona, on Sunday and will then enjoy a training sessions in Molins de Rei with a Spanish coach and team on Monday. After a trip up the north coast, the Knights will take on Sant Gabriel on the fifth day of the trip, competing at 10:00 am local time (4:00 am EST). Following a few more days of training, as well as trips to the peaks of Montserrat and to the beaches of Tossa de Mar, the Knights will end the trip with their second friendly, this time against Vic at 11:30 am (5:30 am EST). The team will make its way back to prepare for the 2014 season on August 10th.
