Past and present players of the Clarkson University Women's Hockey program will be with Canada's National Women's Development Team at the 2016 Nations Cup, taking place January 4-7, in Füssen, Germany.
Golden Knight seniors, defenseman Erin Ambrose (Keswick, ONT) and forwards Shannon MacAulay (Mt. Herbert, PEI) and Cayley Mercer (Exeter, ONT) will be joined at the tournament with the Green and Gold's all-time leading scorer and 2014 Patty Kazmaier winner Jamie Lee Rattray '14. They are among the 22 players named to Canada's roster. The three current Golden Knights, Ambrose, MacAulay and Mercer represent the most of any U.S. collegiate team.
The Nations Cup, formerly known as the Air Canada Cup, MLP Cup and Meco Cup, brings together Canada's National Women's Development Team and national teams from Finland, Germany, Russia, Sweden and Switzerland for a four-day international tournament.
Canada is a 10-time gold medalist at the Nations Cup, including winning the 2015 title. The Canadian roster for this year's tournament includes eight current ECAC Hockey student-athletes. Along with the Clarkson contingent, Cornell forward Hanna Bunton and defensemen Micah Hart and Cassandra Poudrier; Dartmouth forward Laura Stacey; and Harvard forward Karly Heffernan will also be playing for Canada.
