POTSDAM -- Clarkson University's first-year students' move-in day is Thursday, Aug. 23, and they will be trying out the Clarkson Book Bus.
The coach bus, which will loop from Cheel Campus Center to the University Bookstore in downtown Potsdam from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, is a cool, comfortable, fun way for new students and their families to pick up textbooks and items with the university logo, university officials say.
The Clarkson bookstore is downtown, not on campus, because, Clarkson officials say, of their “commitment to a strong downtown Potsdam.”
On the ride downtown in the Book Bus, bookstore regional manager Kristine Nolan will provide students with information about the store, textbooks, and general info like returns, and purchase and payment options. On the ride back she will test their knowledge and pass out silly prizes to those who can answer the questions. She also answers any general questions they may have.
A student leader is also on the bus, to answer questions about campus life.
