CANTON -- The town board has accepted the resignation of Joseph Conklin from the highway department.
Conklin is retiring after a long tenure with the town.
"We accepted Joe's resignation due to retirement with sincere gratitude and appreciation. He worked for the town 28 years," said Town Supervisor Mary Ann Ashley.
Conklin will be using up his remaining vacation time and remain on the payroll until the end of the year, Ashley said.
