Haleigh Agans of Brasher Falls, a 2016 St. Lawrence Central graduate, was recently named ECAS Corvias Division III north softball rookie of the week.
Agans is a freshman designated player and first baseman at Plattsburgh State.
This was Agans' first-ever award from the ECAC.
Agans batted .500 (9-for-18) with an .833 slugging percentage in a 4-2 week for the Cardinals.
She also collected seven RBIs, three doubles, two runs scored and a home run, according to a press release from the college.
Agans had three multi-hit games during the week, going 2-for-3 against the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in game one of a doubleheader on Wednesday and in both contests of a doubleheader against SUNY Geneseo on Sunday.
She finished the week with a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage on 22 chances (22 putouts).
For the season, Agans is hitting .333 (21-for-63) and is riding a 13-game hit streak. She leads the team in RBI (17) and is tied for the team lead in home runs (2), the release said.
