To the Editor:
This year, the Potsdam area will once again participate in the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle campaign from November until Christmas. The Red Kettle will be located at various local retailers, including the Potsdam Price Chopper, IGA and Kinney Drug Store. The money raised at these locations will be used to assist those in need in our community.
We are in need of volunteer bell ringers to help us help our community. As the Red Kettle coordinator for the Potsdam area, I am reaching out to members of the community to ask for help with this project. We could ring more days and more hours with enough volunteers.
Local groups and organizations who would like to sign up for a specific date for the members of their group to ring the bell are welcome to contact me to make arrangements. This would be an excellent source of community service hours and would demonstrate your commitment to the community.
Please contact me if you would be willing to help with this project. I can be reached at 212-9600 or 268-4396. You also may email me at kmikel@clarkson.edu.
Money that was raised during last year’s Red Kettle campaign has remained in our community to help individuals and families in need of assistance.
Once again, your donations of time and money have made a very positive impact on our community during the past year.
Thank you.
