BENNINGTON, VT.—The SUNY Potsdam volleyball team (6-12, 0-3) handled the Mountaineers (4-8, 0-0) in three straight sets at Southern Vermont College Friday evening.
The Bears captured the match with scores of 25-18, 25-15 and 25-18 to get back on the winning track. Graduate student Annie Smith (Chateauguay, N.Y./Chateauguay) led the attack with six kills and added three digs. Freshman setter Rachel Topf (Eagle River, Alaska/Chugiak) had 28 assists, one ace and four digs, while senior outside hitter Liza Fields (Duanesburg, N.Y./Duanesburg) finished with nine kills, three aces and six digs. Senior libero Gabby Arana (Williston Park, N.Y./Herricks) added 11 digs and two aces to round out the leaders.
Potsdam hopes to stay on the winning trail as the Bears travel to Williams College to battle with the Ephs Saturday starting at 4 p.m.
