MASSENA -- The third annual "Music for Change Charity Fest" battle of the bands will be held Saturday, April 2 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in St. Lawrence Centre Arena.
The event will raise money for Raquette Valley Habitat for Humanity and feature a variety of music. Bands from all over the area will battle for bragging rights and prizes.
Prizes will include a "One Song Demo" mixing and mastering from Thunder Roads Recording Studio in Norfolk, valued at $500; a $100 gift certificate to Northern Music & Video in Potsdam; a Tone Gen guitar tuner and tambourine from StarTech Computers valued at $50; and a $25 gift certificate to Mainly Music.
The winning band will be featured and their songs played on 101.5 The Fox and CKON radio and also have an opportunity to play July 2 as part of St. Lawrence Centre's Independence Day celebration.
Uncle Cheek, DJ from 101.5 The Fox radio will emcee the event. Attendees will have the opportunity to enter many raffles, with winners drawn throughout the event.
Advance tickets are $8. They will be $10 the day of the event. Ticket price includes skating admission during the event. Skate rental is an additional $2.50.
