MASSENA – The 4th annual Battle of the Bands Charity Fest will be held Saturday, March 31, from 6 to 9 p.m. at St. Lawrence Centre Arena to raise money for Raquette Valley Habitat for Humanity.
The event will be held in a traditional battle of the bands format, and a variety of music will be played. Bands will include Six Seconds to Safety, Beat Vandalz, In Seven Days, Into the Black, 3LeggedGrandma, 14 Knuckles Later, and City by Nightfall.
Headliner will be Doc Rhythm, a hard hitting, northern New York rock act whose unique sound is an intense blend of driving rhythms, memorable hooks, and challenging guitar solos.
Bands will be judged on planning and preparation, originality, audience interaction, performance quality and presentation. They will battle for bragging rights and prizes, including:
• A “One Song Demo” mixing and mastering from North Country Public Radio Recording Studio in Canton ($500 value).
•A $100 Gift Card to Northern Music & Video from the St. Lawrence Centre.
• A $100 St. Lawrence Centre Gift Card
• A tone gen guitar tuner and tambourine from StarTech Computers ($50 value).
• The winning band will be featured and their songs played on 101.5 The Fox.
• The opportunity to play at St. Lawrence Centre on July 3rd as part of St. Lawrence Centre’s celebration of Independence Day.
Disc jockey Uncle Cheek from 101.5 The Fox will emcee the event. Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in 50/50 raffles.
Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 on the day of the event. Tickets can be purchased at St. Lawrence Centre’s Customer Service Center, St. Lawrence Centre Arena, and Northern Music and Video
Before the show, a car audio competition sponsored by Team Northeast SPL will feature some of the loudest car audio systems in North America. The ompetition begins at 3 p.m. p.m.
