POTSDAM -- Aldi is bringing new jobs to Potsdam with its new store on U.S. Rt. 11, and will be seeing people for full- and part-time cashier positions on Tuesday, May 7.
They will be interviewing from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Best Western University Inn, 90 E. Main St., Canton.
When they are hired, cashiers will train at the Ogdensburg and Massena Aldi locations prior to the Potsdam grand opening sometime late this summer.
The advertised pay is $10.50 per hour, “significantly higher than the industry standard,” the announcement from Aldi said.
To apply, people must:
• be 18 years or older
• have a high school diploma or GED
• be available to work anytime between 6 a.m. and 11 p.m.
• have excellent customer service and leadership qualities
• the ability to lift 45 pounds.
People with retail experience are preferred.
There will be drug screening and a background check.
Full-time and part-time staff working at least 20 hours a week receive full health insurance, dental coverage and 401K.
