MASSENA – St. Vincent de Paul Vice President John Whalen, left, and President Linda Proulx, recently accepted a check for $4,750 from Alcoa employees to help with the organization's holiday program.
The check is a result of a year-long fundraising effort at the plants called the Alcoa Employee Food Drive.
Employees donate to and hold raffles, lunches, bake sales and a 5K run to generate funds to donate to four local organizations to help with their holiday programs.
On behalf of all Alcoa employees, the check was presented by Food Drive Committee members Nanci Ransom, Becky Garrant, Terry Chapman and DeeDee LaDuke. At far right is St. Vincent de Paul store manager Kay LaCombe.
