POTSDAM -- The AARP Tax-Aide program is seeking a resident of Potsdam who would volunteer four hours each week on Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. from Feb. 1 through April 15.
Each year, the program assists low and middle income people in filing their federal and state income tax returns free of charge. Basic computer knowledge is necessary to prepare returns using the TaxWise program and do electronic filing. Volunteers of any age are welcome. You do not have to be an AARP member nor do you have to be a retiree.
All volunteers must receive tax training in January and must pass a test before they can be certified. This can be a stimulating and rewarding experience.
If this sounds like something you would like to do, call Philip W. St. Amand at 769-5736.
