50-year Ogdensburg business pleads for help to keep its doors open

OGDENSBURG — An Ogdensburg business that has served the community for more than 50 years is asking for help as it struggles to stay open during the pandemic.

“We are looking for help with our restaurant during these hard times,: said owner Joseph Power.

Dixie Lee has been in Ogdensburg for 53 years.

“We serve the best fried chicken and fish in Upstate NY, he said in a statement on a GoFundMe page aimed at raising money to keep the restaurant open.

“As of right now we are the only Dixie Lee left in the state of New York. We have tried to get funding through the Government but sadly nobody has been willing to help. The city of Ogdensburg sadly has gone downhill and lost many businesses throughout the years, we can't sit back and watch yet another business go under.”

So far, $110 has been raised toward a $50,000 goal.
