ROSSIE — The St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a homicide that is believed to have occured Thursday on County Route 10 in the Town of Rossie.
St. Lawrence County Sheriff Brooks Bigwarfe identified the victim as William M. Freeman, 67, of 258 County Route 10, Rossie.
He said details are limited at this time due to the ongoing investigation, but did not believe there was currently a threat to the general public.
The investigation began following a call received at 2:18 p.m. March 2.
An autopsy will be performed today to determine the cause of death.
Bigwarfe said seven warrants were executed today related to the investigation and urged anyone who might have information to contact his office at 315-379-2222.
Among those assisting in the investigation are the St. Lawrence County District Attorney's Office, Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, New York State Police, Homeland Security Investigations, Watertown Police Department and the North Country Crime Analysis Center.
