CANTON — The St. Lawrence County Highway Department expects an increase in paving and bridge funding for 2021-22.
A Board of Legislators committee voted in April to accept $1,575,502 in Capital Highway Improvement Program (CHIPs) funding for the year.
The board’s resolution says the funding increase comes from the recently passed state budget.
The money breaks down as $1,125,502 for paving materials. The remaining $450,000 is earmarked for bridge supplies.
The resolution has to go in front of the full board in May to be finalized.
