A Potsdam resident and veteran wounded during his deployment to Iraq is featured in a video promoting the Revolution 3 Triathlon Series event held Sept. 11.
James Wilkes and his family talk about the importance of the competition, especially in light of the brain injury and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder he experienced as a result of his deployment in the two years following Sept. 11, 2001.
Wilkes explains REV 3 is the second largest triathlon organization next to Ironman.
At 1:20 into the video, James speaks, and his family appears.
He said he uses the sport to gain free access to fitness facilities for wounded warriors at colleges and universities across the nation, while advocating for those with brain injuries, and helping charities.
