PARISHVILLE -- A Potsdam resident was charged with a felony following an alleged domestic dispute, according to state police.
Troopers arrest Christopher N. Dihrberg Jr., 31 of Potsdam, NY for second-degree strangulation, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, fourth-degree criminal mischief, criminal mischief and second-degree menacing, police said.
On November 26, 2022, around 7:21 p.m. Troopers responded to West Parishville Road, in the town of Parishville, for a domestic dispute. An investigation determined Dihrberg was involved in a verbal argument which turned physical when he placed his hands around the victims’ neck. Dihrberg removed his hands from the victims’ neck, left the room, proceeded to locate a firearm within the residence and threatened the victim. Dihrberg set the rifle aside, grabbed a pocketknife and slashed the sheets near the victim. At some point during the altercation the victim was able to leave the residence to get to a safe place awaiting law enforcement.
Dihrberg was arrested and transported to SP Canton for processing. He was arraigned in the Town of Parishville Court and released under the supervision of probation.
