PARISHVILLE -- The Parishville-Hopkinton School District has a new support program, run by our Community Schools Coordinator/School Mental Health Counselor, for students and their families in need.
The Panther Paws Project (3P) is a resource available for all students and their families, where the school works collaboratively to meet the needs in a supportive way that enriches the student’s academic, physical, social, and emotional well being.
This is a resource available under the Community Schools Initiative. Services include: access to personal hygiene products and school supplies, access to the Comfy Closet stocked with gently used clothing, assistance obtaining other necessary household items as needed by families, assistance with accessing, coordinating, and establishing community services, help with enrolling in the Backpack Program.
The school has also announced that the free meals for all students will run through the end of the school year, including breakfast and lunch.
The USDA has again extended the Food Service Program for students. Free meals for all students will run through the end of the school year, including breakfast and lunch.
All kids will be able to eat for free, with or without a free and reduced meal application on file. Funding is expected to last through the end of June, but it could run out before then.
The USDA will let the district know and it will be announced when meals will revert back to the free, reduced and paid price structure.
The districts still recommends that family fill out applications if eligible for free and reduced meals, should the funding change, applications will be complete. If a child does not have a current application, they will be charged full price for the meals. Applications can be found on the school website.
The extension of free meals by USDA will not cause a change in the menus. The school might, at times, experience supply shortages and may need to make adjustments.
