STOCKHOLM – State police say an overturned tractor-trailer Wednesday forced police to shut down State Route 11 near State Route 11C for about seven hours, starting at around 4:20 p.m.
Troopers say a 2012 Volvo tractor, hauling a trailer owned by Advance Transport from Advance, Missouri, was traveling west, when it drove off the north shoulder of the road in an attempt to avoid another vehicle slowing down in traffic.
The tractor-trailer overturned after it left the roadway.
The operator, 34-year-old William H. Eubanks Jr., of Jonesboro, Illinois, was not injured.
State police were forced the shut the road down until approximately 11:30 p.m. in their efforts to have the tractor trailer removed, causing traffic to be rerouted between State Route 11C and State Route 420.
Eubanks was ticketed for moving from lane unsafely.
